OMAHA, Neb. — Residents near S. 55th and Pine Streets should expect traffic delays and an ongoing investigation after a man was killed in an officer-involved shooting Saturday evening, the Omaha Police Department said.
Police said they were called to a residence in the neighborhood about 5:30 p.m. for a report of a person in crisis. Shortly after officers arrived, the individual fired a weapon from inside the home and an officer returned fire, according to the department. The person died at the scene.
The department said officers recovered a firearm from the residence. No police officers were injured during the incident.
