Omaha police have identified the two people found dead Friday morning in what investigators are treating as a suspected murder-suicide, authorities said.
The victims were named by the Omaha Police Department as 19-year-old Victoria Kreitler and 29-year-old Lucas Nunez. Officers responded to a residence near 35th and Dodge streets about 7:30 a.m. Friday and found both people dead inside the home, according to an OPD release.

In an evening update, the police said Nunez shot and killed Kreitler, who was his girlfriend, and then died by suicide. The couple had been dating for about a year and were living together in the residence where they were found, OPD said. The department’s homicide unit is handling the investigation and told the public the probe remains active.
