Sun returns, then a brief warm-up
Seattle enjoyed another comfortable summer day with skies clearing through the afternoon and afternoon highs in the mid-70s. That pattern — cool mornings with sun in the afternoons — will largely persist through the coming weekend, but a short-lived warm spell is on the way early next week.
Forecasts show a gradual increase in daytime temperatures, with highs near upper 70s on Monday and climbing to the low 80s by Tuesday. Nighttime readings are expected to stay pleasant, generally in the 50s, so evenings and early mornings will remain cool.
What to expect day by day
| Day | Expected high | Expected low |
|---|---|---|
| Friday | mid-70s | 50s |
| Saturday | mid-70s | 50s |
| Sunday | mid-70s | 50s |
| Monday | upper 70s | 50s |
| Tuesday | low 80s | 50s |
Morning cloudiness followed by afternoon sun will be the recurring theme, returning midweek after the early-week warm-up. Expect comfortable conditions for outdoor recreation through much of next week, especially during afternoons.
Wildfire situation to the east
Although Seattle itself is forecast to remain pleasant, agencies are monitoring increased fire danger east of the Cascades. Central and Eastern Washington are under elevated risk through Saturday, with the threat expected to become greater on Sunday as conditions turn warmer and drier.
- Active incidents being tracked include the Chelan Hills Fire and the Ryegrass Coulee Fire.
- Residents with loved ones or property in Central and Eastern Washington should follow local fire and evacuation updates.
- Seattle-area outdoor plans may be affected if smoke from those fires increases; keep an eye on air-quality alerts.
“Take good care,” Meteorologist Abby Acone and the FOX 13 Weather Team
City residents planning events, yard work or travel should note the modest warm-up early next week while remaining aware of wildfire developments elsewhere in the state. Keep weather and air-quality updates handy, especially if you will be traveling east of the Cascades where conditions are changing.
