State opens public dashboard amid multi-county measles outbreak
HARRISBURG — The Pennsylvania Department of Health has put an online measles dashboard into service as the commonwealth confronts a growing outbreak that has produced 105 confirmed cases in 2026 across several counties.
The dashboard, officials said, is intended to give residents timely information about where cases are occurring and the characteristics of those infected. It will display case counts by county, age group, vaccination status and hospitalizations and will be refreshed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons.
"This new measles dashboard is part of the Shapiro Administration's commitment to boost public access to information and provide transparency in our work to protect public health," Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen said.
The DOH reported cases in Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Montgomery, Northumberland and York counties. Of the 105 patients, 16 were hospitalized, and, according to the department, none of those who contracted measles were fully vaccinated.
Who is being affected and how the state is responding
Health officials said the largest age groups affected are people aged 10–18 and those aged 25–49. The Department of Health described stepped-up vaccination activity in Lancaster County as part of containment efforts, noting more than 600 MMR doses given through pop-up clinics since late April — compared with 179 doses provided in Lancaster for all of 2025.
Public health leaders are emphasizing vaccination as the primary defense against spread. The dashboard will provide a clearer picture of vaccination status among cases, which the department says can guide outreach and clinic placement.

Local impact and what residents should know
For county health departments and hospitals, the dashboard offers a ready reference to anticipate potential increases in pediatric and adult cases and to coordinate vaccination clinics. Schools, daycare providers and parents in affected counties will be watching the data for guidance on exposure risk and recommended precautions.
The DOH noted its outreach aims to build trust and increase confidence in the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine. Public health officials continue to host pop-up vaccine clinics where needed.
| Metric | Number |
|---|---|
| Total confirmed cases (2026) | 105 |
| Hospitalizations | 16 |
| Fully vaccinated among cases | 0% |
People seeking more information or vaccination sites should consult the Pennsylvania Department of Health website and local health departments for clinic schedules and guidance on exposures. The department said the dashboard and vaccination efforts are part of broader containment work that will continue as officials monitor new cases.
This is a developing situation and the DOH will update data on the dashboard three times weekly. Residents with questions about measles symptoms, exposures or vaccine availability should contact their health care provider or local health department.
