Springfield’s restaurant scene will be in the spotlight as the city hosts its first Springfield Restaurant Week. The nine-day event begins Friday and continues through July 19, featuring special menus, limited-time dishes and unique dining offers from more than a dozen local establishments.
How it works
The Missouri Restaurant Association is organizing the series as a chance to drive traffic to local restaurants while directing a share of sales to local causes. Each participating menu includes a designated charitable component: a portion of the proceeds from meals will be donated to Ozarks Food Harvest and the Missouri Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (MRAEF).
“So the restaurants get a little extra business, the customers get a great deal and a great meal, and then we give back to the community,”
— Mike Burris, executive director of the Missouri Restaurant Association.
Participating restaurants and local benefits
Organizers say the lineup highlights a mix of longtime Springfield favorites and neighborhood spots, aimed at offering residents an accessible way to sample the city’s dining options while supporting hunger relief and culinary education.
- Featured restaurants include Amore Italian Restaurant & Bar, Bambinos Café, Big Whiskey’s Fire & Ice, Grace Kitchen and Jimm’s Steakhouse.
- Other participants: Mexican Villa, Mully’s Pub & Patio, Nearly Famous Pasta House & Deli, Palm & Paddle Grille and Pasta Express.
- Also taking part are Salvatore’s Fresh Ristorante Italiano, Steak N Shake, The Rock - Food & Friends and additional venues that may be added before the event ends.
The event connects dining deals with community needs: Ozarks Food Harvest serves as the regional Feeding America food bank for southwest Missouri, and the MRAEF funds hospitality education, scholarships and workforce programs such as ProStart.

Why Springfield matters
For Springfield, events like Restaurant Week matter in two ways: they give restaurants a predictable lift during a competitive season and provide an easy, community-minded reason for residents to dine locally. Organizers framed the program as a "win-win-win" — more customers for restaurants, value for diners, and resources funneled to local charities and educational programs.
As the local dining scene continues to expand, coordinated promotions that tie commerce to community needs can help sustain independent operators and support workforce pipelines. For families and patrons, Restaurant Week is an opportunity to try new menus without committing to a full-price dinner, and for students and job seekers it creates visibility for culinary training programs supported by the MRAEF.
For the most current list of participating restaurants and any late additions, organizers recommend checking the Missouri Restaurant Association’s updates. Residents who value keeping local dollars circulating in Springfield’s economy—and who want to help area food banks and hospitality education—have an easy way to do both this week.
