The Tucson Roadrunners released their full 2026–27 regular-season schedule Thursday, and the club will return to a rare opener at home: a two-game series against the Colorado Eagles at Tucson Arena on Saturday, Oct. 3 (7 p.m. MST) and Sunday, Oct. 4 (4 p.m. MST).
Weekend focus for local fans
The schedule places a strong emphasis on weekend dates for local attendees. Of the team’s 36 home games, 26 are set for Friday, Saturday or Sunday — more than 72% of the home slate. Saturdays are the busiest single day, with 13 home matchups scheduled.
- Opening weekend: Oct. 3–4 vs. Colorado Eagles
- Longest homestand: eight games, Feb. 19–Mar. 6
- Three additional four-game homestands: Nov. 6–15, Dec. 11–16, Jan. 15–20
Ticketing and fan events
The team said season tickets for all 36 home games are on sale now and include enhanced experiences and exclusive membership perks. Fans can also buy flex plans, group tickets and single-game seats through TucsonRoadrunners.com or by calling the ticket line. Single-game tickets will go on sale later in the summer, but the Roadrunners are offering a chance to secure Opening Night early during the team’s National Hot Dog Day Celebration on July 15 at Barrio Brewing Co., where a limited number of Opening Night side tickets will be priced at $30.
Schedule shape and travel notes
The Roadrunners’ longest stretches on the road are three separate five-game trips: Oct. 23–31, Feb. 3–13 (which overlaps with the annual Gem Show at the Tucson Convention Center), and Mar. 24–Apr. 3. The schedule also brings Central Division clubs back to Tucson at different points; for example, the Texas Stars return for a two-game set Nov. 14–15, and the Iowa Wild will visit for a pair of games as well.
"The Roadrunners will open the season at home for the first time since 2018-19," the team noted in the announcement.
For Tucson, the calendar matters beyond the rink. Concentrating games on weekends increases opportunities for families, out-of-town visitors and local businesses that benefit from event traffic. The long homestand in late February into March gives the team a sustained window to build momentum in front of home crowds, while road stretches timed around major local events like the Gem Show will reshape travel logistics for fans and staff alike.
